How Now, Brown Cow?

A seemingly innocuous day of me going to work was promptly punctuated by the discovery that someone has committed bovine brutality - someone has gone and painted graffiti over all the cows in Tokyo. I submit the following of the victims as evidence.

  • I love those cows. Remember when they were in Sydney. Great photos.

  • Sydney? Really?

Japan has started reimporting US beef, so I wasn't sure if I had contracted foot and mouth disease from being near these cows.

Good to hear that they're true blue dinky di Aussie cows.

  • though a lover of modern art - i fail to appreciate the cultural significance of inanimate cows in public, why not just have a side of beef hang in the display windows -- i'm more of a francis bacon fan when it comes to livestock & art!

btw: is it shameful to display cow nipples in public? your blog is now bordering between PG-13 & NCP-17 ratings.

  • I just came across your blog and this post. We had the same thing here in Paris (as in many other cities) and they were really appreciated. Unfotunately, some began to get vandalised.

  • We have bears (I believe they're supposed to be polar bears) that are painted in a similar fashion around town here in Vancouver, Canada. They are going to be auctioned off soon for charities. A couple of years ago, we had Orcas on display and also sold for charities.
